The Jewish Community Complained Against Moša Avram Suzin

Members of the Jewish Community complained to the Administration of the Town of Belgrade against Moša Avram Suzin. Claiming that the Administration and the Dorćol Precinct did not consider the complaint, the Jewish Community further addressed to the Ministry of the Interior. The Ministry ordered the Administration to investigate the conduct of Suzin and alleged maltreatment of other members of the Jewish Community, especially the attack with knife on Sabitaj Jakov Koen. After the Administration investigated the accusations, Moša Suzin was found guilty for the attack with a knife and was punished with 15 days of imprisonment.

The Town Precinct reported on a robbery occurred in Avram Bencion‘s store situated in the vicinity of the Stambol Gate. The Administration dispatched a communication to all precincts to search for the thieves and stolen items on their relevant territories.

The brothers and heirs of Avram Suzin gave a power of attorney to Tejo Bogatinčević, a merchant from Šabac, to collect debt amounts from their debtors in that city and its vicinity.

Two Lawsuits Filed Against Avram Adut Over Debts

The Belgrade Town Court reached a decision regarding the lawsuit Benvenista Albala had filed against Avram Adut, a tenant of the Jewish butchery shop, over debt. Since he failed to settle his debt, his possessions were evaluated and seized. The file also contained a decision of the Belgrade Town Court reached in a lawsuit Rahila Adut had filed against her husband Avram Adut, over debt.

The Jewish Synagogue Filed a Complaint Against Tasa Belopoljac

Samuel S. Koen, Haim A. Konfino and Jahijel B. Ruso, the tutors of the Jewish Synagogue, filed a complaint to the Administration of the Town of Belgrade against Tasa Belopoljac, a clark at the Administration, related to the decision Belopoljac to stand a side of Avram Jakovljević against whom a lawsuit was filed over a flour distribution to the poors, and to null his guilt.

Tax Collection From Belgrade Jews For the Year 1864

Lists of Belgrade citizens, taxpayers in 1864. Among persons who were exempted from tax paying was also a widow of Bohor Amar. The list of newly weds, new taxpayers included Salomon Koen, Salomon Benbasa and Jozef Isak Lazar. The list of deceased taxpayers included Jakov Aroeti and Jakov Beraha. The documentation comprised statements on weddings and deaths of the persons mentioned above.
