Collection of Store Tax

The list of persons who paid store tax for both semesters of 1884/85. The Terazije Precinct collected the tax from Leopold Hercog, Pinto and Albala, Fani Majer, Nisim Aron, Aron Konfino. The Town Precinct collected the tax from Josif Ozer, Josif Hason, Nisim Solomonović, Azrijel Menahem, and in the Vračar Precinct the tax was collected from Jakov Dajč, Avram Melamet and David Baruh.

Case of Drowning of Josip Melamed and Daniel Albahari on the Danube

The Ministry of the Foreign Affairs communicated to the Administration of the Town of Belgrade related to the case of the drowning of Josip Melamed and Daniel Albahari after their boat capsized on the Danube. The Zemun watchmen managed to save Melamed, but Albahari drowned. The Austria-Hungarian Consulate requested that Ministry to investigate the witnesses who would confirm the statements given by the watchmen who risked their lives to save Melamed.

Complaints Over Tenancy Fees For the Baths By the Sava River

Nestor Milisavljević filed a complaint to the Administration of the Town of Belgrade against a new tenancy fee imposed by the Belgrade Municipality Court to the owners of the baths by the Sava River. Among those who complained was also Isak Kojen.

Collection of Hospital Costs For the Treatment of Marija Cetinger

The Administration of the General State Hospital requested the Terazije Precinct to collect from Jakov Baruh, the innkeeper, hospital costs for medical treatment of his cashier Marija Cetinger, as he obliged himself when she was admitted to the hospital. Baruh gave a statement that he had no resources, thus the Terazije Precinct inventoried his mobile property. Baruh‘s wife Lenka made a statement that the inventoried items were her property and requested them back. The Precinct requested her to submit a proof of ownership.
