Jahijel B. Ruso Filed a Lawsuit Against Juda J. Kojen Over Debt

The Court in Valjevo communicated to the Administration of the Town of Belgrade regarding the lawsuit which Jahijel B. Ruso, from Belgrade, represented by Moša Solomonović, had filed against Juda J. Kojen, a merchant from Obrenovac, over debt. The Court in Valjevo requested the appointment of experts to determine determine if the signature on the bill of exchange was truly Kojen‘s.

Jozef Alkalaj and Moša Farki Complained Over Confiscated Horses

Jozef Alkalaj and Moša Rubin Farki filed a complaint to the Administration of the Town of Belgrade against the Town Precinct which had confiscated the horses they had purchased from Rosa, a wife of Dr Bril. The Administration informed them that the horses were still registered as a property of Dr Bril, and registered for the army needs, thus they couldn‘t be sold, so he were to address to Roza Bril on that matter.

The Jewish Religious School Community reported to the Administration of the Town of Belgrade on number of births and deaths in the Community in the period 1st to 10th December 1885. Children were born in the families of Hajim Azrijel and Semaja De Majo. Oru, a daughter of Josif Almuzlino, and Moša, ason of Isak Hajim, died.

Jews Engaged in Clearing Up the Topovske Šupe and the Marinkova Bara

The head of the 6th City District reported to the Technical Directorate of the Belgrade Municipality on activities accomplished on 28th May 1941. twenty nine Jews, eighteen detainees and fourteen volunteers were engaged in clearing up the areas in Topovske Šupe, Marinkova Bara, etc. In addition was the letter of the Department for Jews regarding the forwarding of Avram Alhalel and Natan Glik to Tašmajdan, dated 29th May 1941.

Jahijel and Neta Ruso Evicted from Mijailo Barlovc‘s House

Jahijel Ruso, legal representative of his wife Neta, complained about the decision of the Dorćol Precinct which ordered them to leave the house of Mijailo Barlovac. Ruso had already sued his landlord Barlovac for breaching the lease contract. The Administration rejected the complaint.

The Jewish Religious School Community reported to the Administration of the Town of Belgrade on the number of births and deaths in the Community in the period between 21st and 31st January 1891. Isak Hajim, Jeuda Gavriel, Josif Jakov Koen and Izrail Majir got baby girls and Jakov Semo, Binamin Levi and Moša Albahari got baby boys. Bina, a son of Isak Majo, Neti Levenzon and Elijas Josif, died.

Jozef Goldberg Lajzer Sentenced For Wandering Around

Jozef Goldberg Lajzer, born in Poland, with residence in Novi Sad, was caught wandering around the town without proper identification documents and jobless. The Criminal Department of the Administration of the City of Belgrade sentenced him to 30- day of imprisonment, and afterwards to be delivered to the General Police Department since a warrant was issued for him earlier. Jozef‘s mother, Vilma Goldberg, informed the Administration of the City of Belgrade that her son was mentally ill and that the warrant was issued because she reported him missing. She requested the Department to substitute his prison sentence with fine sentence.

Jozef Nisim Padro and Avram Elija to Take Oath

The Belgrade Town Court communicated the Administration of the Town of Belgrade regarding the oaths which Jozef Nisim Padro and Avram Elija, had to take in front of a rabbi, according to Jewish laws. They were summoned to the Court as witnesses in a lawsuit of Ozer B. Avram against Isak Fermo, thus the oaths would guarantee that they would speak only truth.
