Efraim Natan Kojen Requested His Court Documentation

Efraim Natan Kojen requested the Administration of the Town of Belgrade to return to him some court documentation. In his request Kojen stated that Kosta Obradović, who was his legal representative in a lawsuit against the heirs of the late Moreno Gabaj, had died, and consequently the legal documentation found in his possession was taken over by the Belgrade Town Court and deposited it to the Administration. The Administration responded to Kojen that documentation could not be handed over to him without a Court decision.

Estera Albala Was Hit By a Horse-Carriage and Admitted To the Hospital

Estera Albala gave a statement in the Surgical Ward of the General State Hospital where she was received after being hit by a horse-carriage as she crossed the street. Estera explained that she did not see the driver, but that her cousin Avram Kazas, who came to the scene, might be able to testify about that. Esther was not a Serbian language speaker, so Moša Elias interpreted her words.

Emin the Turk Complained Against Moša Mevorah

The Ministry of the Foreign Affairs instructed the Administration of the Town of Belgrade to investigate the complaint Emin, the Turk, had made to the Turkish commander Rašid Paša that he had given money for exchange to a Jewish money dealer, but he had never received the exchanged money. The Administration investigated the case and confirmed the claims of the mediator Sami and a money dealer Moša Mevorah, who were to execute the exchange, that the money was stolen from Mevorah‘s box during the Belgrade bombardment in 1862.

The Belgrade Town Court instructed the Administration of the Town of Belgrade to forward experts to once again evaluate the estate and a house of Moša Nisim. The Court suspected that the previous experts, Gavril Kojen and Jakov B. Ilijaš, in 1857 evaluated the property value higher than the real value.
