A Barrel of Malaga Wine Seized From David Levi For Not Paying Excise Fee

The Administration of the Town of Belgrade requested the Belgrade Customs to inform to whom it sold a barrel of Malaga Wine and whether a buyer paid the excise fee. Previously, the barrel was bought by David Levi, bur he refused to pay the excise fee and the barrel was seized from him.

Administrative Stamps Without a Seal

The Administration of the Town of Belgrade initiated an investigation after administrative stamps were discovered without the proper seal. The case was revealed when David Levi, a shipping agent, was handing over the merchandise to the customs officers. He was interrogated and he stated that he had bought the stamps in the store of Avram Melamed and his son Jakov, and they had purchased the stamps from Mijailo Mijailović.

The Sava Precinct reported to the Administration of the City of Belgrade on the passengers compiled on 11th February 1902. Azriel Almuzlino, David Levi, Benko Davičo and others departed to Zemun by boat. Maks Dajč, Solomon Alkalaj and others arrived to Belgrade.

Anula Mandil Visited Her Cousin David Levi

The Dorćol Precinct addressed to the Administration of the Town of Belgrade regarding the request of David Levi, the merchant, that Benjamin Mandil from Šabac be informed that his daughter Anula was staying at his house and that he would take care of her. Anula, his sister‘s daughter, came to visit him and refused to return to Šabac complaining to her stepmother.

Accusations of Lenka Alkalaj Against Mazal Levi

The Administration of the Town of Belgrade investigated the accusations filed by Lenka, a widow of Solomon Alkalaj, against Mazal, wife of David Levi, for spreading the fake information and insults. The Administration decided to punish Mazal with two days in prison or 2 talirs money fine.

The Executive Board of the 1st District People‘s Committee of the City of Belgrade appointed a guardian of absent David Levi, with last residence at 4a Strahinjića Bana Street, to represent him in a lawsuit initiated against Levi by the City Water Supply Company. According to the information available to the authorities Levi was in Israel.

Antiquity Stores Owners Appealed Against a Ban To Sell Items In Streets

The Ministry of the Interior communicated to the Administration of the Town of Belgrade regarding the appeal of the Belgrade owners of the antiquity stores not to sell items in the markets or streets. Among those who appealed were Venijamin Hajim Pinto and Isak Dano, on behalf of Jozef Magris, Salomon Levi, Sadik Dano, Jakov Pinto, Jozef Levi, David Pinto, Hajimoa Benci, Isak Pinto and others.

The Belgrade Town Court requested the Administration of the Town of Belgrade to appoint new guardians to Dona, a minor daughter of the late Jakov Azarija, since Moša Mevorah and Avram Maclijak gave up on that responsibility and her stepfather stated that she couldn‘t live anymore in his house. Appointment of a Guardian of Moša Đerasi, Rakila Kalderon and Debora Papo

Zelma Đerasi, a widow of Alkan Đerasi, requested the 1st District People‘s Committee of the City of Belgrade to appoint legal guardians of her husband‘s relatives Moša Đerasi, Rakila Kalderon and Debora Papo, who emigrated to Israel in 1948. The guardians were required to initiate the probate hearing of settling the estates located at 20 Gospodar Jevremova Street and at 3 Višnjićeva Street, owned by Alkan Đerasi.
