Avram Elijas and Jakov Šalom Kalderon Gave a Statement on a House Sale

Avram Elijas and Jakov Šalom Kalderon gave a statement that in 1859 Jozef Eskija Levi had requested from them to write a deed for a house which he and Haim Avramović had earlier sold to Juda Arueti. Arueti intended to buy a house for his son in law Isak Jakov Mevorah, but later he had acquitted the purchase due to the lack of money.

Antiquity Stores Owners Appealed Against a Ban To Sell Items In Streets

The Ministry of the Interior communicated to the Administration of the Town of Belgrade regarding the appeal of the Belgrade owners of the antiquity stores not to sell items in the markets or streets. Among those who appealed were Venijamin Hajim Pinto and Isak Dano, on behalf of Jozef Magris, Salomon Levi, Sadik Dano, Jakov Pinto, Jozef Levi, David Pinto, Hajimoa Benci, Isak Pinto and others.

Avram Anđel Requested a Permission to Open a Tavern

Avram Anđel filed a request to the Town Precinct to give him a permission to open a tavern. Anđel took over a store from Isak Solomonović who moved to Vienna. The tavern was intended for the Jews from Zemun who stayed in Belgrade during the day. The request was granted.

A Case of the Girl Reina

The Administration of the Town of Belgrade initiated the investigation in the case of the three year old girl Reina, who was brought from Constantinople by Rafail Mišulan, with the task to hand her over to her grandfather Menahaim Jefraim. Since he had treated the girl badly during the trip, Mišulan was arrested. The girl‘s father Isak Solomonović, arrived from Brčko to Belgrade and took the girl.

Avram Ruso Filed a Lawsuit against Isak David Fermo

The Administration of the Town of Belgrade informed the Ministry of the Foreign Affairs regarding the lawsuit Avram Ruso, a money dealer from Belgrade, had filed against Isak David Fermo, from Bucharest. Ruso claimed that he had given money to Fermo to exchange it to another currency, which he never gave back. Avram Ruso informed the Administration to have settled the debt with a help from a friend from Bucharest, and his letter was preserved in the file.

Allegations Made by Haim Nakmijaz Against Raka Maletić

The Jagodina District Office requested the Administration of the Town of Belgrade to investigate the allegations made by Hajim Nakmijaz, a Jew from Jagodina, who asserted that Raka Maletić from Belgrade owed him money for one bed cover. Maletić was investigated and claimed that he had never heard of Nakmijaz and that he owed him no money.
